Hi Guys, The problem with the D-link 500 we have in the office was fixed by following the steps below. (basically a full reset and replacment iof the firmware) 1. Connect to the modem via serial in hyper terminal (Bits per second = 9600) Your prompt will look like the one below with ip numbers instead of the "x". x.x.x.x> 2. Enter the commands below as shown below (please enter everything that is after the prompt >): x.x.x.x>ip device flush x.x.x.x>ip subnet flush x.x.x.x>ip route flush x.x.x.x>ip ipatm pvc flush x.x.x.x>ip nat delete ppp_device x.x.x.x>ppp 1 disable x.x.x.x>r1483 pvc none x.x.x.x>config save x.x.x.x>restart 3. After those commands , the system will reboot. Then, you will see the following and continue with the commands as shown below: ??:??:??:??:??:??>ip device add ethernet ether //edd 192.168.0.1 ??:??:??:??:??:??>ip device add ppp_device ether //ppp/DEVICE=1 20.0.0.1 ??:??:??:??:??:??>config save ??:??:??:??:??:??>restart 4. After reboot completes, run the firmware software and upgrade the modem regardless of version.. http://adsl.cutw.net/firmware-dsl500/dsl500upgR1.14AU.zip 5. After that I simply configured the modem with username and password. (as easy as it _should_ be)
