------------------------------------------- RE: sync/connectivity issues with d-link equipment. Its a known issues with the D-Link equipment whereby they do not sync correctly, or are more prown to losing sync, and also intermittently losing connectivity after no-sync. as part of troubleshooting, i'll need to get you to set these customers to ANSI encapsulation -this is done using a command line interface for the 300/500 -this is done using the wizard on a 200-usb the ANSI is like an auto-encapsulation-detect setting, in the slight possibilty that telstra arn't using the true DMT encapsulation, or using something that the dlink's dont pick up by default. (once I set a customer to multimode and the d-link deivce picked up modulation called "ALCTL") on the 300/50x's, console/telnet to the modem and issue the following commands ---------------- itex list This will show you what mode the modem is currently set to. It will show as the following txGain=6 Mode=Auto as you can see this modem is set to auto itex line down itex mode auto/ansi This command changes the mode. Change it to the opposite of what it is currently. (if auto try ansi if ansi try auto) config save restart This saves the setting. ---------------- on a 200-usb modem, set the user up as "other DSL provider" and select the encapsulation as "multimode" as opposed to g.dmt/dmtlite etc please email me any feedback that you have.
